A Prayer of David | Psalm 17

How do we know God hears our prayers? In Psalm 17, David shows us what it means to pray with confidence that God listens and answers—not according to our will, but according to His.

In this sermon, we explore three principles of prayer that help us better understand how God responds:

1️⃣ Plead with God – not to manipulate Him, but in faith that He is just and unchanging.

2️⃣ Be a Person of Integrity – aligning our hearts and motives with God’s will.

3️⃣ Hope in God – trusting not only in present deliverance but in the eternal satisfaction of His presence.

Ultimately, our confidence in prayer rests in Christ. As David longed to “be satisfied with [God’s] likeness,” we look forward to being transformed into the likeness of Jesus, our Savior and King.
