IDENTITY — Jude 1–2, 24–25 | Palmdale Church

What you believe about who you are shapes how you live. In the opening of his short letter, Jude anchors identity not in genetics, circumstances, or human status — but in Christ. Above being Jesus’ own earthly brother, Jude identifies first as a slave of Christ, a brother among believers, and one who is called, loved, and kept by God.

In this sermon, we consider these three fundamental marks of Christian identity:

* You Are Christ’s Slave

Not slaves to sin anymore, but joyfully bound to Jesus in loyal obedience and freedom.

* You Are Christ’s Brother

Adopted into God’s family — your identity shaped by humility, not earthly privilege.

* You Are Called, Loved, and Kept in Christ

Those whom God calls, He loves. Those He loves, He keeps. Those He keeps, He will present blameless with great joy.

Jude ends where he begins — with the security of God’s keeping and the glory of Christ:

“To him who is able to keep you… to the only God, our Savior… be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 24–25)
