Lent Day 27

In this passage, the Apostle Paul is talking about our eternal hope. We know that when we leave our bodies–this broken vessel–we will be with Christ until the Eternal Kingdom is ushered in. If this is our hope, then we have nothing to fear. So ‘we are confident’–in other translations, ‘we are of good courage.’ We have no fear of man or fear of death because we have hope for the life to come. Paul even reminds us that we will be more satisfied in Christ’s presence, so no fear of death or circumstances should dishearten us or rob us of our Christian courage.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, set our hearts and minds on our eternal hope, so that we would desire to be with you for eternity. Let that hope manifest as courage so that we have no fear of man, even of death, as we hope for your eternal Kingdom. Amen.
