Lent Day 28

The Apostle Paul was constantly faced with trials, often life-or-death situations. He was truly persecuted for his faith. But, he had a great hope that allowed him to stand courageously against opposition so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would go forth. His courage was evident in the way he lived his life, believing that the greatness of Christ must be seen through his actions. His courage was so great that he did not even value his own life, just that the glory of Christ might be made known to the world. We rarely face that kind of persecution today, and yet, we are often afraid that we will be put to shame for the sake of the Gospel. But we should be like Paul, hoping with daring courage that we would make Christ's greatness known.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help us to live courageously so as to make the greatness of Christ known. Give us confidence, a sure hope in our eternity, that will give us the confidence to stand even when the world is against us. Amen.
